CSS 2027 MPT. Those who have been preparing for the CSS Competitive Examination 2027 are advised of an alteration in the dates, which should be noted immediately. It has come to our notice that FPSC has rescheduled the MCQ-Based Preliminary Test (MPT) and the new test date is announced as October 10, 2026.
This information is made public through a notice issued by FPSC on August 19, 2026. The previously scheduled test was for September 27, 2026, which has now been canceled.
Why Did FPSC Change the Date?
The shift is not because of a scheduling problem or logistical mistake on the part of FPSC. As stated by the commission, a protest is scheduled to happen on September 27, which was supposed to be the day of the MPT exam. Rather than risking any interruptions or problems with accessing the test centers or even safety issues for thousands of candidates coming from different cities, FPSC decided to reschedule.
In the notice, the commission explained the shift as a way to facilitate the candidates and allow the test to happen without any problems and order in the first place. It makes a lot of sense. A city-wide or national protest on the day of the exam will likely lead to some sort of traffic problems and delay for the candidates coming to their testing centers.
What This Means for CSS 2027 Aspirants
Here’s the good news: this is purely a date change, not a policy overhaul. FPSC has been explicit that every other term and condition tied to the CSS 2027 MPT eligibility rules, syllabus, test format, application requirements, and so on remains exactly as announced earlier. Nothing else in your preparation plan needs to change.
That said, the extra two weeks aren’t something to waste. Whether you see this shift as a minor inconvenience or a bit of bonus prep time, it’s worth using it wisely revise weak areas, take a few more practice tests, and go into October 10 more confident than you would have been on September 27.
